Will my supply of formula be confiscated on stopover?

I am flying to Australia via Hong Kong and am wondering if my 250ml cartons of formula will be taken when reboarding on the stop over. I am concerned because i have had liquids confiscated in Bangkok before even though I remained airside. Has anyone had experience of H.K. stopover with baby milk?

We travelled through last summer. Yes they will take them off you. However, we bought some at the Boots in the airport and they sealed them in a special bag and we carried them trough fine. Though they were checked. I also carried through some powder just in case. Good luck

Brill! Will ask them for a bag. Thanks.

Dont know which formula you are takking about but cow and gate and sma both sell little ready to feed bottles which are 100ml - when we flew with dd I took an unopened box of those and security were fine - Smile

You will need to take smaller cartons; anything over 100ml will be taken off you particularly at stopover points.

No experience of HK but did uk to oz via dubai last year with 10 month old. Took cartons of 280ml of milk and couple of bigger bottles. Only challenge came in the UK - they weren't even looked at in Diubai or Oz. Just said baby food and they said fine.

Gatwick was a different story - had to taste 1 in 5 of the food/ milk . Did complain about the milk as after open is not sterile but told that , that would be my problem Shock.

Good luck

No experience going to HK but I've just been to Canada and I didn't have any taken off me! I had bottles with sterilised water in them and formula separate ready to mix, they just had me taste the water and food when we went back through security in London. And then the same in Canada when I was coming back. I had 7 bottles to make sure I had enough to get there with a few to spare as well as a few packs of Ella's Kitchen food and nobody questioned the amounts etc!

Yes and it will be taken off you. I had to open all of my aptamil cartons to taste and they had to be left behind. Saw lots of people having their bigger cartons taken off them. Better to take powder with you just in case.
