Hotel babysitters

Have been invited to a very posh country house for my Dad's 65th birthday and for dinner it would be nice to have a meal without ds 1 and 2 (7 and will be 7 months). The hotel provides 'fully qualified and CRB chekced' babysitters but I'm quite nervous about leaving my kids with a complete stranger. Does anyone have any experience of this kind of service?

I have done it a few times. It was fine. I got them to come a bit in advance so I could "get to know" them a bit. If you are only downstairs, then it is easy to pop up and check too.

have worked as this

kids were always fine, popping up will only disturb the kids trying to sleep in a strange room

better to text babysitter

I used a babysitter one evening when I was at Center Parcs years ago and it worked out fine.

Thanks, for the replies. I will ask whoever it is to come a bit early to meet them first and meet my boys, I think.
