cheap day out with dh and 18 mo dd?

We always seem to do the same thing, swimming, out for dinner or playbarn (like a soft play place) or we go for a walk in the woods.... any other ideas welcome?

picnic in the park/beach, take a long things like a small ball, bubbles, building blocks and just let dd explore among the grass, feed the ducks. my ds is 8 now and we have practically lived in our park during the summer since he was little
a local farm centre where she gets to touch the small animals
google days out with the kids and lets go with the kids as they have places to go in your selected area and you can work from there depending on how much they cost,

Where abouts are you? The South Lakes wild animal park is still free admission (until Feb half term).

Once you have joined the National Trust admission is free to all their properties and they often have actiity days.
