Lapland - recommendations please!

Hi All
Has anyone travelled to Lapland recently? It's the big 4.0. at the end of the year, and I'd like to celebrate by taking kids to Lapland.
I fancy Saariselka from looking at brochures as I would love to see the Northern Lights too, but as I have never been before or know anyone else that's been, I wondered if anyone on here had been before and could recommend any hotels/companies that provide all the 'Santa experiences'.

There was quite a few threads in December. We went to Yllas as it was close to a ski resort but also liked the look of Saariselka. We booked through Thomson and were very pleased. Don't count on seeing the Northern lights as I think its luck of the draw.

Other companies are Esprit and Transun.

Sovereign are also now doing a trip to Levi which looks fantastic.

Rovaniemi in Finland is good too. Sadly the northern lights are most likely around Feb, so doesn't fit in well with a Santa trip (but you might be lucky).
