Butlins for a boozy weekend - is it still possible or is it pretending to be posh?

DD1 came home from work saying that a group of them were planning to go to Butlins for a weekend. Many years ago I did this with a group of work colleagues - we went to Minehead, spent most of the time in the "Hurricane Willy" nightclub (a nightclub that was so classy it sold pies just as you went in!), or eating chips to fend off a hangover, I think there was also 70's themed evening.
I looked at the Butlins website, and it appears to have transformed - no mention of bars or nightclubs, or tribute acts, just wholesome family fun. Is it worth going these days without a family?
This has to be the weirdest parenting advice I have ever posted on here, trying to find a good p*ss-up weekend away for daughter and friends...

You need to look at adult weekends! They still have themed weekends and have a nightclub on site.

They do fab themed weekends... 3 nighters. Northern Soul, 70s, 80s, etc. I'd love to go on one if I could find enough like-minded mates.

Thank you - found the info on Big Weekends.com. Interesting that they don't put that on the main Butlins site these days!! You can find it by typing "adult" in the search box but there are no other lnks to it - that's marketing for you :)

I went to a 70s weekend years ago at Bognor Regis with the girls. We had a huge laugh. Getting ready to go out was half the fun - lots of wine and music and doing each others hair. The entertainment was good. Posh it is NOT though Grin

This is what I did for my hen weekend about 10 years ago: a 90s weekend at Bognor with Right Said Fred headlining: it was brilliant. 3 modern, self-catering apartments, £25 a head for the accommodation - total bargain!
