Children's Seats on Virgin Atlantic - Will they automatically give us one for our 2 year old DD?

We are flying to the USA on Virgin Atlantic and was wondering if they will automatically provide one of these seats for our 2 year old.

On this Virgin Webpage it suggests that you don't have to request one but that its automatic (c&p):

While your children enjoy their dedicated inflight entertainment, they'll be comfy and safe in our seats designed just for them.
The seats are available on every flight, can be used in any cabin and are suitable for new-born babies up to children weighing 20kg or measuring 100cm tall To ensure you get a child seat, just buy a flight at the child fare Though you should note we'll need at least 12 hours' notice to ensure a child seat is available
Children too large to fit a child seat will need to travel with a full adult fare

Have you flown Virgin Atlantic with a preschooler? Did they sit in a child seat or just on a normal adult seat?

Someone is bound to ask so just to clarify we have paid for her to have her own seat ie. a seat each for me, DH and DD.

DD2 is still a baby and is treated as a lap baby for the flight, so 3 seats in total.

I would assume no, you won't get one unless you request it, and even then it's not guaranteed.

I don't think I've ever even seen one, and we've flown a number of times with kids aged 3 months - 6 years on Virgin!

It's like a booster cushion and you do need to place a specific request.

I saw these trunkie booster back packs on recent long haul flight, looked like a brilliant idea and was used by a 4 yr old and a 8 yr old so will last a fair while

I've flown VA with my DS and never got one of those. But as a general rule I'd say assume nothing and ALWAYS book anything you want. Plus, sometimes they just don't have what you've booked, so be prepared for that. They tend to only have so many baby seats or whatever and sometimes there are a lot of kids on the flight, so it's first come, first served.

P.S. I should also say I've never even SEEN one of those seats on a VA flight and I've been back and forth across the Atlantic more times than I care to remember.
