Hi - DH DD (9) and I are about to book Tenerife for a week in the Feb holidays. 10th to 17th. However this morning stumbled across cape Verde as an alternative. Any thoughts anyone? Thanks!

I've not been to Cape Verde, DH did about 20 years ago. He reported it being primitive but I assume it's changed.
I think the deciding thing for me would be visas. If you don't need to apply in advance I would probably go for CV. OTOH, I have never been to Tenerife either so you can discount anything I say.

I'd have gone with cape verde but they don't fly from Scotland in winter and I couldn't be bothered driving to Manchester so we opted for Tenerife.

Hi! Thanks for your replies. We are in Scotland too actually and the holiday I saw with Thomson looked like direct flights from Glasgow but maybe I didn't read it properly! Are you going to Tenerife in Feb? Have you been there before at that time of year? Websites seem to suggest 22 degree which would be fine with me! Cape Verde looks interesting.g but I just don't know much about it. Just longing for some heat!!!

Yes, we are going in a few weeks time. I have been before. Weather was good but cloudy in the mornings but that was fine for a walk or a bit of shopping. Cloud burnt off and afternoon was by the pool.
