Need some help here as tying myself in knots. Trying to sort out a holiday for July with 7yr old and 5yrold and hubby. thinking about France brittany or northern Vendee but can't decide whether to go for Gite cluster with pool or mobile home on campsite. Any tips? We're actually from Northern Scotland but are not phased by the drive as we're used to epic car trecks and are experts at them . Will do Channel tunnel or a ferry . But where shall we go for a little sun . have two weeks so it has occured to me to do a campsite for one week and then a gite for a second but maybe it would be a bad idea......

If doing the Vendee I would suggest going to the south rather than the north. It is more scenic, less crowded and the weather is maginally better.

Travel wise from calais it make little difference in time. (6H30 to St Jean de Monts in the north Vendee vs 6H10 to Fontenay le comte in the south)

It also means you can easily do days out to La Rochelle and the Il de Ré.

Just can't decide whether to go for campsite or gite cluster.
