Thinking of going to Dorset/Devon/Cornwall this summer for a week. Wondering whether it's best to stay in a cottage, a B&B or a hotel? Am not camping or caravanning

Any recommendations? Tips?

If you can find a nice hotel that has some self-catering cottages attached, I think you get hte best of both worlds.

Room service, use of pool etc but enough room to put DCs to bed in the evening and chill out as a couple!

We used the Falmouth hotel a few times when ours were little, although the service deteriorated over the years and I'm not sure how good it is now!

Mmmm, sounds like a good plan - will have to do some research, I think!

Still here then Hunker? Hmm, depends on what you want really, to be waited on or to do your own thing. I think a cottage would be good from a not being disturbed by housekeeping/landlady pov. Where do you want to go?

Don't really know where - somewhere beachy and easy-going, not too crowded - thinking of going in June.

what about these? I haven't been but they look nice.

Self catering would be better because of all the baby/toddler paraphanalia (Sp) you'll probably have/need to take..
