BA's reclining seat bassinet for bigger infants?

Has anyone used one of these reclining seat things they attach on long haul flights instead of the traditional bassinet? If so, how would you rate them?

We're flying Bangkok next Xmas with 4 children and a baby so I'm keen to be able to dump the baby when asleep - will be 9 months and none of mine have fitted in bassinets by 9 months ....

Alternatives are Eva Air or Thai Airways for direct flights. Anyone got any pleasure or horror stories of flying with children on these airlines or a suggestion for an alternative airline ... All info gratefully received!!

I flew to Australia with ba with a one year old. She is big and slept wonderfully in the recliner. She didn't like it much when awake but i thought it was amazing. I actually managed to eat my meals in peace.

Have just returned from Australia with an 11 month old on a BA flight. The recliner chairs were great!!

The BA thing is much much better than it used to be. DD2 didn't actually sleep in it for longer than 45 minutes when we flew in December, but I was surprised by that as it looked substantial and comfortable and like something she might sleep in IYSWIM. With the benefit of hindsight, she was teething at the time.

Worked well for my child when he was too big for bassinet. I used BA until he was 2years old just for those reclining infant seats. Could barely fit in bassinet at 11 months ad he was small.

We flew twice to oz with ba when ds was 9 months and again at 13 months. He slept 11 of the 12 hours in the recliner on all legs bar the wants flight we had on the way out which was bassinet. They are brilliant.
