has anyone taken kids to the Czech Republic? where did you go and what did you do? would you recommend it? Anyone know Ostrava? I;ve been to Prague but for a girls weekend so a somewhat difficult kettle of fish involving clubs and cafes with hangovers.

our nanny is from Czech and we're kind of toying with the idea of going and visiting her family. dds really want to go (but they don't want me and dh to come ) I think it could be really nice but not sure what else we will do

I've only been to Prague. There is a zoo there, and a castle. In the castle at the time (although I don't know if its still there, this was 2 years ago) was a fantastic Barbie exhibition, with Barbies dating back to the 1950s. Horse and cart ride was popular, plus "the little train" that takes you up the hill to the castle.
