This is a duplicate of a thread in Chat - probably more appropriate here!
DD and a friend are looking to go away for a week in March, and found a great deal for £559 to Barbados. Both really excited - both checked they could have the time off with their respective bosses, and tried to book. After another hour on the website they were getting nowhere, and as they're both working, I said I'd speak to Virgin.
After calling and paying 10p a minute for the priviledge for 15/20 minutes, they announced that unfortunately there's been an error on the website, and they can't honour that price. But not to worry, it's being rectified as we speak!!

So I understand that mistakes happen, but on the basis that they're not a tinpot company, wouldn't the correct action have been to accept the one booking at that price (in view of the fact that they gave the price!), and immediately correct the mistake on the website. At £1,200, the girls will certainly not be going to Barbados, but wherever they end up, it won't be with Virgin.
