I'm going to Dublin for a girly weekend - any suggestions of good bars/restaurants/cafes/shops/sights to see/etc?
TIA

cafe en seine! great lively dressy bar away from the dreaded temple bar vomitfest

Really? Is Temple Bar not worth a visit then? Have never been to Dublin before. Is Cafe en Seine easy to find?

The temple bar area is a bit like a huge hen night and stag night collided. We actually spent the night in a bar on the edge of this area and it was OK, the mad people head for the bars with dancing and live music.

We found a great italian on parliment st, can't remember the name but the lunch/ early dinner menu is great value. We went back a couple of times on our trip because it was so good.

Don't think like me that there are huge queues outside all the bars and restruants waiting to get in, its the smokers . That confused me at first, thay are very strict. You have more chance of a lock in than you do of having a fag in a pub .
Watch your bag in the busy streets and markets during the day and night there are small teams of kids/ teenagers that work together.

The bar in the Fitzwilliam on Stephens Green serves the best cosmos ever.
Old style bars - Mc Daids, Keoghs, Nearys - all on streets off Grafton Street.
The Bailey, and the bar downstairs in the Westin a bit cooler.
Odessa, Diep le Shaker, The Trocadero all nice but not too expensive food.
Romanza and Boulevard Cafe good for a lively dinner with OKish food.
Cafe en Seine on Dawson St is good and there's a branch of Milanos (Pizza Express)just down from it.
Shopping - Brown Thomas
