Hello
We've booked a 2wk holiday to P Pollesa, Mallorca, in July next year. We have 2 DSs - age 7 and 20 months when we're there.

Does anyone have any recommnedations, re restaurants, shops, savings, excursions, etc etc etc?
We're staying in an apartment with loads of family-friendly facilities.

Thanks! x

Worth going to the old town pollensa too which is about 10 mins away -loads of nice restaurants around a big square -a great atmosphere -there are markets there on Sunday mornings too.

If you have a hire car worth going to the beach at Formentor , visiting Soller and also a drive to Deia.
Palma itself is a really nice city with lots to do too.
The Marina around Puerto Portals is great for people watching and footballer /film star spotting and mojito drinking !

There are lots of nice restaurants in Puerto Pollensa Stay is really nice . There are pollensa forums is you google which have loads of recommendations.

ah yes, the old town looks great - presumably there are buses etc that go there? We'll probably hire a car, we usually do, and plan on going to Soller and Palma. Also possibly to the Caves of Drach - I remember visiting them when i was younger.
Thanks for the recommendation for Stay - I've hada look at a few forums, but some of them havent been updated for a bit, hence why I came here too
PS I name-changed for this thread - I am a regular MN user!

Recommend Italian restaurant called Little Italy at the end of the Pine Walk - great pizza. gets v busy so book or do what we did more than once which is pop along, get beer from supermarket, buy takeout pizza from Little Italy and sit on the sea wall to eat dabbling our feet in water! Cheaper and no need to worry about kids behaving in restaurant.

We love puerto pollensa, couldn't recommend it highly enough. Funnily enough we really don't like little Italy at all. It is almost impossible to get a table and then we have had poor service and mediocre food both times we have been there. In the port we like El Pescador and the restaurant next door but am keen to try Stay next time we are there. Food in pollensa town is generally excellent and we have also enjoyed eating and having drinks in Old Alcudia, not to be confused with Alcudia.

there is a lovely restaurant in the old town called numero 8, it is on the main square. The stay is good and also if you just want a quick bite the cappucino on the front. The ile a d'or hotel is lovely to sit outside in the evening to have a drink and watch the sea!
The caves of drach are nice and the beach at porto cristo just down the road is quite nice for when you have finished in the caves.
Beach wise we tend to head to the far side of alcudia (salbufera nature reserve I think, its on the way to p'an Picafort) the beach is always empty and is much nicer than the beach at pollensa (we do have a car, this would be a faff by bus)
The Market in Puerto pollensa is on Wednesdays and in the old town on Sundays - always worth a visit for the fruit & veg (it does get very busy try to do it without a buggy if you can).

Yy to the Illa D'Or, nothing nicer than their magnificent G&T's whilst the children play in the sand. The bays at that end of pine walk are so safe and peaceful.

Will reply more fully tomorrow when I'm not using my phone!
We're staying at the Playa Mar Aparthotel. Looks just wonderful for families.
