Holidays
right a uk week which fits the following criteria please...
Heathcliffscathy · 15/01/2006 21:06
decided would rather do a week in uk and 2 weeks in sun rather than caribbean (sorry pph) sooooo:
we would like a real break, but are travelling with ds (who is beloved but not the most relaxing sort aged 2)....we were thinking that self-catering is like being at home but with different scenery so wanted to risk a hotel....
we would like a beach
we would like babysitting if poss although babylistening and a good restaurant downstairs would do it
we don't want it to cost the earth but are prepared to spend money if it really does give us the break we are soooo desperate for
we can travel from 23rd march and have to be back 26th april so i think we can avoid easter???
we are travelling from london and probably by car although open to suggestions
is it bedruthan steps?
any other suggestions?

woolacombe bay is fabulous soph. we are going back for the 3rd year this summer. we've always gone self-catering, but the hotel looks great. takes quite a long time to get there though...

soph did you see this thread here ? Thurlstone is meant to be great. I got a full critique from my mate, I'll email it to you.

PPH what was the room arrangement at Thurlstone? It looks fairly limited if you don't want to share with your children...
PrincessPeaHead · 15/01/2006 22:02
oh I don't know I'm afraid elliott - they were there on an extended family shindig (granny, aunts, cousins etc). But they went with 3 children and I'm pretty sure they weren't room sharing with all of them!!
I could tryand find out...
elliott · 15/01/2006 22:05
thanks pph. I guess I could always phone the hotel! Looks great and just near parents (v small) holiday cottage)....
PrincessPeaHead · 15/01/2006 22:07
she raved about it. said theyhad great babysitters and also in room listening so you could pick up a phone anywhere and listen to your baby. also food was excellent (not too rich) and outdoor pool looked great (although they didn't use it in dec obviously).
said was very nice decor but not so nice you were paranoid about the children smashing something.
sounds pretty perfect.
