Does any family friendly AI hotel or resort in the UK exist?

I would like to take the dc (5, 9, 15 & 21) away during Easter (4 nights) where they can have fun with other children and activities geared to their ages while I can just eat and sleep basically. I dont want to fly if possible (work abroad most of the year so really need to relax). I have checked sands resort in Cornwall but even that is a bit of a way out for me driving. (coming from South East England) Does anyone have any ideas or do I really, really, have to fly out to get something like this?? Thanking you in advance ( jet lagged mum!!)

It might not be what you're looking for, but I'd really recommend the Luxury Family Hotels Group. We stayed at The Ickworth and it was fantastic. And you can get a discount by mentioning MN .

But they probably won't be what you're looking for if you're looking for full-on activities for the DC (sailing, etc).

Thanks culturemulcher, I will look into it. It does not have to be full on just something similar to Centerparcs maybe (my kids arent into sailing or skiing!!!) and Dinner, bed and breakfast will be just fine.

YHA and PGL do family holidays but food and acommodation is pretty basic, also the Manor House in Devon is AI with a variety of things to do.

Look at Crieff Hydro in Perthshire. It's beautiful, has a fabulous kids club (6 hours free each day) plus sports, horse riding, golf, high ropes, quad bikes etc. there's a family pool and an adults only spa. It's set I. It's own estate and you can either stay in a chalet or in the main hotel. Highly recommended. You could fly to Glasgow or Edinburgh if you're far away.

Second Crieff Hydro but also have a look at Auchrannie on Arran.

The lodges at Crieff are basic but the Cottages are fab. 5 star. Not really AI however as self catering. The hotel is AI.

If you can get your head around the drive to Sands it is worth it, the kids have so much to do and the staff are very helpful... It is a really great holiday if the drive isn't too far!!

oops, I didnt realise this thread had quite a few responses, thanks all, I am looking at the Manor as well but the pricing is a bit confusing, are all the activities included in the price? and there does seem to be a huge emphasis on golf, I hate golf! Sands does still look nice albeit pricey as someone pointed out in another thread.................still thinking!!!

If you phone Sands they normally have some sort of special offer, we've always found it to be good value for what you get and friends of ours went last year on our recomendation and loved it... they are going again this summer!
