do we need to buy an Oyster card if we are there for just a week or can we still just buy a weekly pass, the old paper version, have been looking at the website but am non the wiser (thicko emotion!!) Confused

You can't buy a weekly paper card anymore afaik. You have to get an Oystercard and put your weekly travelcard on that.

Oh and if you give the Oystercard back when you leave London, you get your deposit back :)

Thanks Christine, that's made it clearer, didn't wnat to have to tell dh that we had to buy the card on top of everything else but if we get the deposit it back that will make him happier Grin

If you've got time, I think you can get the Oystercard now posted to you anywhere in the UK. It is much cheaper than normal fares, and there is a maximium for the day, you may find you save money.

thanks mummytime but we are not in the UK and are coming straight to London so can't get it sent to family either as they are not in London and we are going to visit after our London trip
