Possible venues for Dad's 75th birthday celebrations

Hi

I am looking for a nice hotel (poss with some leisure facilities inc pool) for my Dad's 75th birthday. Hotel needs to be reasonably child friendly (4 children aged from 7 - 10) and within about 2 hours from Wokingham/Bracknell area. I am currently thinking about Bath area, New Forest, South coast etc

Ideally we might only want to spend one night on a Saturday in March which may be problematic as most hotels want two nights over the weekend but we are still not sure (depends on cost!)

We would need one double room and two family rooms and want to have nice dinner on the Saturday night.

Would be grateful for any recommendations.

TIA Thanks

How about Chewton Glen, Calcot Manor, Bishopstrowe House? Though don't know if Bishopstrow has a pool, but lots to do around there.

Great thanks I'll have a look at those. it's so difficult as there are so many and we aren't tied to a particular areas.

thanks

New Forest area both Careys Manor

and

Balmer Lawn

are really nice. Careys Manor is stunning but v expensive. Balmer Lawn has a lovely feel about it and is right next to a lovely picnic lawn and stream/small lake that you can go swimming/paddling in. Although might be a bit chilly in March Smile
