My husband and I are having a rare day off together. We'd like to go for lunch in a nice cosy pub with a log fire and big sofas.

Cheshire would be ideal. Can anyone recommend something? I'm thinking Knutsford and the surrounding area, or somewhere on the A49

where did you go in the end?

Only just found this but we have a restaurant in Cheshire which is also a pub and our food is very nice if you are ever in the area again.

I thought you were in Staffordshire, though you probably have a Cheshire postcode. Village beginning with M?
