Family holiday camp in the States

We would like to travel to the States at Easter, somewhere like Boston but we're flexible on location really. We have two DC, one is 4 the other 7 so instead of traveling around the place in a hired car (which they would hate), we thought they might enjoy being in a holiday camp with set up activities and the like. Do any of you know of anything specific you could perhaps recommend? We don't enjoy the heat or extreme sports but apart from that, we just want to experience something different. TIA.

Boston is a real City and so not really a place for that kind of break. If you look at Rural areas of Massachusetts or upstate New York there will be lots of Camp grounds, most of which will have Cabins. You can usually do things like Canoeing, Fishing etc. there. However it probably won't have much organised. If you had more money and wanted something organised you could look at something like Adventures by Disney.

My other point is that you are not guaranteed good weather that far north at that time of year. We once froze on Cape Cod over Memorial Day weekend (end of May). So you do need to be prepared.
Have you been to the US before?
My kids at that age coped with long touring holidays, also with city breaks, such as Boston.

We have been to smuggs.com in Vermont. It was fantastic.

I think it would be a bit cold anywhere in New England at Easter, you could get some nice days, but also some yucky one. A bit like here, really.

If you are googling, use the terms 'family resort'.
