Hello, I am laid up in bed ill Sad so m consoling myself by thinking about holidays. We are thinking of going away just after Easter (mid-April) and our wishlist includes:

Sunshine and warmth!
History and culture
a good swimming pool
a good beach
not too much driving (nearish to an airport - don't fancy spending hours in a car - would prefer not to hire a car at all)

Dc are 7 and 9, and like spending holidays in swimming pools and on beaches, with some cultural / historical stuff thrown in (they love cathedrals and the suchlike).

So far I've looked at the Keycamps site and like the look of Rome / Tuscany, or Spain - but not sure about how warm they would be in April? Also thought about Egypt - but is that still too unstable politically?

I'd be v. grateful for any ideas! Smile

I would recommend the Cape Verde Islands, Canaries or Egypt. The Red Sea resorts are very far removed from the political issues and there are some very good deals to be had.

Cape Verde doesn't offer a huge amount of culture but the beaches are stunning and the climate is fantastic. The Canaries are a safe bet and there are some great family hotel options.

A lot really depends on your budget. The remainder of Europe can be lovely in April but the weather could also be less than warm - you would need heated or indoor pools for sure. Message me if you would like any suggestions or further advice.
