hi, we are taking our three month old on holiday in a few weeks and i wondered how we go about steralising bottles etc etc on holiday without having to drag a loada equipment over. The holiday is for one week in a hotel in Spain. Do people just take more bottles and teets with them or ask the hotels to steralise? How does it all work!?? Also the baby will beon solids when we go, do people take their own tinned food abroad or hope the supermarkets out there will stock it all? Thanks so much.

For sterilising get the bags you can use on the microwave. In terms of solids it depends on where you are going as to what you can get in the shops. Although at that age its mostly fruit and veg. I would take a few jars but you can also give him/her avacado, banana etc that doesn't require cooking. You can get the hotel to do simple cooked veg but watch out for salt used in cooking.

Get sterilising bags from Mothercare or Tommee Tippee ones here . You just add cold water up to the indicated line, soak the bottles etc and dispose after 24 hours.

tbh I'd hold off the solids until afterwards - partly from convenience and partly as your baby is still pretty young to wean, 26 weeks being the guideline. If you feel you must, take a few packets of cereals to mix with forumla or boiled water instead - he/she won't take more than a teaspoon or two anyway. Most European brands have added sugar, salt etc so best avoided especially in the early stages.

Hi, we used to buy one of those five litre mineral water bottles from the supermarket and cut the top of and just put sterilising tablets in, but we were in an apartment and had access to a sharp knife, so bags are prob easier
