We'll need a car for 2 weeks in August, on the Costa Blanca.

Thanks

Holiday autos generally work out fairly cheap and have never had any trouble with them, provide car seats too if you request at booking

we always use carjet, never had any problems with them & they are good value too. Haven't needed car seats though (my dds are older)

where u goin beatie? WE've going to somewhere near alicante for two weeks in august. WE've booked thru holiay autos. Used them last year with no probs.

I used a company called Solmar when I flew into Valencia last year - reasonably priced and easy (picked it up at the airport).

I always use these:

we too have used carjet, great price and car ok, but cannot say this loud enough DON'T USE THEIR CAR SEATS, THEY WERE APPAULING!! They were in a pile outside the pick up office, all were literally falling to pieces. You were told just to pick one, and fit it yourself. It took us over an hour, after trying several different ones which wouldn't fit properly because they were as good as broken, belts that wouldn't tighten etc. Most airlines, even the small budget ones allow your own car seats to be checked in to go in the hold with the pushchairs. think the general standard of car seat in spain is not very good, so it is worth the effort of lugging your own to be checked in with your luggage!!

We too used carjet in November - great price etc BUT massive long queue while most of the other ones had only 2-4 people waiting. We didn't have DD with us so it was OK but it would have made a bad start to the holiday with her having to wait for a good hour to get the car. What is more important - sanity or another £10?

alibo · 11/01/2006 11:29

Sanity definatly katiemum!! we had my 1yr old ds with us, and sister's 1yr old dd and 5yr old dd! it was nearly teatime, both little ones had had no usual naps, so you can imagine us all in palma airports multi storey with these cr*y car seats! and tired children. I would hire a car in spain again, gave us great flexibility, but would take own seat; would have been so simple , pick up car, seat in and go!

actually, just looked on my past emails, the company was Europa Goldcar, from drivespain.com, but i believe it is part of the same company as carjet. Couldn't complain about rest of service, straight foward at palma airport, went to desk, signed form, went across to car park, both cars ready and waiting, given keys, would have been very quick if not for seat fiasco!
