Can anyone please suggest a child friendly art gallery in London or the South? For a four year old??

All of the national museums have education packs, trails, etc for various age groups. I like Tate Modern which has a soft game with velcro pieces that a child can carry around the gallery. It gives clues for finding images in different works of art that the child then sticks onto the game. Probably explaining that very badly but DS (3) loved it and needed only a little help. It really got him looking at the works of art too which was great.

The V&A also do age appropriate backpacks with 'trails' through the museum. It's not really an art gallery of course, but there are works of art throughout.

If you check out websites for the museums you should be able to find what each one offers for children.

Something else I just thought about, Tate Modern's restaurant is child friendly too. They have a kids menu, lots of high chairs, baby changing (not that you'd need all of that with a four year old) and really nice food.

Thanks very much for these suggestions (I do have a baby to take along so the additional info was useful too!). It's good to be able to supplement the various web sites with MN experience ....
