Might be dictated by flights- Stansted or Luton- but which end of island is ncest for 2 old fogeys without kids this time, who want to chill.

Went many years ago. Drove around to several places - north, south, little town in hills in the middle. All nice.

Alghero is lovely - we stayed at Villa Las Tronas - very swish - but ate out in town - think crowded little quirky alley-ways and secluded restaurants - a great place for couples!

We were in the North. It was lovely. What time of year are you going? Unless July or August the place is quite quiet.
