Car seat for regular taxi journey

We are about to move to a village three miles away from the station and DC's childminder. We only have one car, which OH drives to work, and at the moment I drop off/pick up the DCs (two journey per week) on foot. However this is not going to work when we move house, so I'm looking into other options.

Of course we could always buy a second car. But we don't really want to run another car just for the convenience of two three-mile journeys each week, so looking into other options.

The DCs are 4 years and 20 months old, so travelling by taxi would be easy with the older one, as he just needs a booster seat. But not so easy for the small one, as his seat is huge and heavy. I haven't found a local taxi firm who can provide a car seat, so it would be a case of us providing the seat, and hoping the childminder doesn't mind it taking up space in her house all day.

So anyway, can anyone recommend a seat suitable for a 20-month-old, which is not huge and can be transferred easily in and out of the car?
