Recommendations for holiday in Jan with 3 month old

After a tough couple of years with no hols, I would love to go on a lovely relaxing holiday with plenty of sightseeing. Warm weather a must but we are not sun worshippers.

DD will be 3-4 months old then. All being well, will still be exclusively breastfed. So, should be somewhere breastfeeding friendly - ideally.

Any recommendations?

Ideally would like to go while DD still nicely portable and not weaning!

Sun and plenty of sight seeing in January. I'd probably head to the Caribbean as some of the islands have plenty going on. Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, for instance. Alternatively, Jordan?

Thanks - although, poss too far to travel with DD being so young... Anywhere a little closer to the UK?

Go to South Africa. It is a long flight, but it is easy flying with a little one. Not too much jet lag (only 2 hours difference I think?). Once there, plenty of sight seeing, and delicious food and wine. Sunshine too. No jabs needed if you stick out of the malarial areas.

Don't think you can rely on the weather in Egypt/Jordan in January. Oman would be gorgeous. Closer than South Africa.

Travelling with them when they're tiny is easy - much harder as they get older. I took DS1 on a transatlantic flight when he was four months and he wasn't even really aware of the plane, time difference, etc. In January you have to go quite a long way to get reliable sun and warmth.

Would second south africa/carribean great at that time of year and easy once you get there.....flying much easier than you think with sm one esp if bf - we went to italy with ds at that age - wished we'd gone further as once you're weaning its a bit harder..and once past that stage too wriggly for sitting on my lap!
you can take your own car seat and pushchair/pram on most airlines infants get full luggage allowance..
for closer warmth - Eygpt? probably not as easy to get around though

What about BF in public? Certain countries/cultures might not be compatible?

You aren't going to be getting your tits out and flashing everyone are you. Discretion is the thing, I've seen women BFing in public, in Oman. Nobody raised an eyebrow because she had everything covered up.
