We are going to Lapland for a few days. Its also a ski resort and we are hoping to get ds started and for me to do a bit of cross country as I hate downhill.

As long as you dress for it, you will be ok. If you are being v active wear layers. Don't cover your mouth/nose with a scarf; the humidity on your skin is brutal.

Buy a good strong face cream that doesn't contain water / aqua

Our package does include suits and boots but think I may buy the latter, that is snow boots rarther than ski boots.

Went to Finnish Lapland a couple of years ago and it was amazing!
Best tip I can give you is invest in base layers. Get long johns and long sleeve undershirts. Make sure they are NOT cotton. And you'll be able to enjoy your holiday.
Other things : a fleecy snood that I could pull up over my nose so only my eyes were exposed to the icy chill; good gloves; proper ski socks and good snow boots and a warm hat.
Best to buy these from a sports or outdoors shop.
Also, if it's available do a husky dog sledding trip and a snowmobile trek. Both of these are incredible and worth the money. They are trips you will never forget.
I've always gone for hot holidays but tbh this freezing cold holiday is one of the best holiday I've ever had.
You will have a fab time!

I live in Denmark, so don't know if these are available in the UK (otherwise, am sure you can buy them when you arrive in Lapland? Is it a direct flight - if not, where are connecting?)

Our nursery recommended Helosan to us (dc's spend a lot of time outdooors all year round at nursery, so a good cream is a necessity).

There's another one, but can't remember the name right now Blush

Thanks guys. These are great suggestions. I prefer warm holidays too but I know ds will love it.

I saw some lovely north face snow boots today but were a bit expensive. Are there any good cheaper brands?

I got some really cheap ones in the Tog 24 outlet shop. That's also where I got my base layers and ski socks.
