Just writing my 'things to pack' list for Center Parcs, what might i forget?

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 08/11/2011 17:00

Going to CP next week with DH, DD (4yrs) and DS (15m)

We went last year, but our list of things we need to take has changed (mostly due to DS being a year older)

What might I have forgotten?

Many thanks in advance :)

a torch for wandering back to your lodge at about 5pm?

ArthurMcAffertyhastwocats · 08/11/2011 20:11

All the condiments and kitchen bits you might need and a sharp
knife. DVDs? Bike helmets? Swim nappies? Swim towels?

purpleturtletoise · 08/11/2011 20:39

washing up liquid

Wormshuffler · 08/11/2011 20:50

Something to feed the squirrels and ducks that will come knocking. A very big bag for putting swim stuff in as it is sometimes a long way from your locker to an empty change cubicle and if you are like me you will drop your bra and pants in a puddle.
Have fun its great there! Which one you going to ?

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 08/11/2011 20:57

Thanks!

We are going to elvedon (we went a year ago) Really looking forward to it!

We are hiring bikes and a kids trailer, so I have bought the kids a little torch each.

Got cycle hats the other day.

Going to get some cheapy dishy tabs and washing up liquid to take with us.

DH is looking up dvds to borrow from our local library at the moment.

Have already got a big swim bag stocked with swim nappies etc.

Just wondering how much wine and nibbled to take :o

Carrier bags. The shop charges for each one!!!

minxthemanx · 08/11/2011 20:59

Enjoy. I am very jealous and would love to be there at this moment.

bebumba · 08/11/2011 20:59

You might want gloves for when you are out on bikes. Have fun.

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 08/11/2011 21:24

Oh yes, carrier bags (stabled multitude of uses)

Kids gloves on list, didn't think of adults, thanks :)

Have fun. enjoy those hot chocs

I always take as much food as possible as the parc market is soooooo expensive

certainly basics like cereals, tea, coffee, few tins of stuff like beans/soup etc

melodyangel · 08/11/2011 21:41

Tea towels - I pack any that are looking shabby and then leave them at the end of the holiday.

I try to take as much food as possible to cut costs and save time. I put the amounts we will need in to freezer bags which saves room.

I like to make a dinner for the first night too so we don't have to cook when we are all knackered.

Old clothes for art classes for the little ones.

The charger for your camera battery or spares batteries.

Have a lovely holiday. My Ds thinks it's the best place ever!

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 08/11/2011 21:43

Last year we ate out there loads and it nearly cost as much as the holiday!

This year, meals out with DS are rather rushed as he gets bored easily so we are mostly going to eat in.

Going to take soup, cereal multipack, milk, wine, nibbles, crumpets, butter, salad dressing, and dd's birthday cake and going to get bread, salad, cooked chickens etc from there.

Can't think of easy to do meals that we could take with us, although DH has suggested getting a supermarket curry kit (on special in Waitrose atm) to take.

I make a spag bol sauce double wrap it in freezer bags then it's just a case of reheating and doing the spagetti.

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 09/11/2011 10:44

Think I might grab one of those nacho kits to take too. My dad and his gf are coming for one day, so have to check with them what they want to do food wise.

Phone chargers. I always nearly forget dp's razor. Children's special teddy/blanket. Pushchair.
I am the worlds worst packer, I always forget something and always take way to much stuff.

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 09/11/2011 12:00

DH forgot his contact lenses last year, but luckily we only live about 30mins away so he could drive back and get them:o

Sad We are/supposed to be going at start of year but found out yesterday i'd cocked up school hol dates and DD goes back earlier than I thought so looks like we won't be going as apparently school won't authorise holiday Sad

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 09/11/2011 16:28

:( This could be our last trip as DD starts full time school next September and there is no way I could afford holiday prices!
