How far do you want to travel roughly?

Also - have you checked the budgets of your guests, or are you paying for them to come? If so, what is your overall budget?

madonnawhore · 06/11/2011 15:03

What's the criteria? Do you need it to be hot? Cold? Catholic? Atheist? By the sea?

Need a bit more info, otherwise just stick a pin in a map of Europe.

OurPlanetNeptune · 06/11/2011 15:06

There are 27 memebr of the EU (26 if you are excluding Greece): France, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Romania, Malta, Czech Republic, Austria....

Depends on what time of year you are planning to get married. And whether you want a sun, sea and beach wedding or a city one.

Congratulations on you impending nuptials!

squeakytoy · 06/11/2011 15:06

Cyprus seems popular at the mo.

Kladdkaka · 06/11/2011 15:08

When are you getting married? Soon? How about the Ice Hotel up north from me

hitormiss · 06/11/2011 15:09

We would like the following

It needs to be warm weather.

Only parents and our dc's are coming at present, have not asked anyone else.

Not sure about the budget but no more than 5k I'd say.

Am I asking the impossible?.

I'd go here

Absolutely beautiful town in Tuscany, with no cars.

hitormiss · 06/11/2011 15:18

Maisie thats beautiful I love it{grin} thanks.

The Elysium Hotel, Paphos (Cyprus).

I'm not a huge fan of Cyprus, except for the weather, but this is a genuinely 5* hotel. Big enough to have everything (spa etc, if you care) but small enough to feel quite intimate.

I'm only suggesting you look at it because while we were there a British couple had their wedding in the gardens and were bowled over by the helpfulness of hotel staff who made it all happen.

Good luck

SacreLao · 06/11/2011 15:21

I second Tuscany, looks amazing!

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 06/11/2011 15:21

It is Hit - in fact, I don't think the website does it justice tbh. It is quite touristy, but it's not at all tacky, and just so peaceful with no traffic. Really feels like you've stepped back in time.

Hope you have a great day wherever you end up Smile

MrsUnassumingTroll · 06/11/2011 15:22

Italy, Lake Garda. Malcesine castle is stunning, saw a British wedding party there a few years back when we were on holiday there.

grovel · 06/11/2011 15:22

Having recommended a hotel, I'll now recommend a place. San Gim (like Maisie). It's stunning.
