December birthday day out

DS will be 5 on 29th Dec.

I like to try and make a good day out of his birthday, but struggle because only pantos are on, and the weather.

He does love the circus. Are there any winter circus's?

Any other bright ideas, that's not Panto (which we'll do before Christmas).

We are in Berkshire, so it's easy to go to London.

Thanks all.

What about winter wonderland that's in one of the big London parks every year in December?? Like a big funfair, ice skating etc. X

We've just been to London for a short break over Half Term. It was our DDs 8th birthday while we were there. Although her 'treat' was the London Eye and the Rainforest Cafe (we are from the North so these were novelties for us), it was the trip to Hamleys which was the big hit. Yes its an expensive toy shop, but she was wearing a huge birthday badge and they got the whole shop to sing Happy Birthday to her. All the staff made a huge fuss of her too! Fabulous! As an aside, us 'up north' often have the view that Londoners aren't too friendly, but the amount of people that said Happy Birthday to her, and offered to help with our younger DD's buddy in the tube was unbelievable! I heart London!!!!

I will have a look at the winter wonderland, he is keen to try ice skating, thanks.

Growlithe, that's lovely to hear. All those ideas sound fab. Glad you had a good time.
