What is the weather like in Florida at this time of year?

After a busy Chritmas entertaining other people, I'm considering holidaying overseas next Christmas.

What would Florida be like weatherwise?

Or possibly South Africa - is there enough to entertain the children there?

Or should we go somewhere cold and snowy?

Ideas very welcome

when I visited FL this time of year a few years ago - sunny but still rather cool - nothing like the Uk at present but still jeans and long shirt weather.

We have looked into going to florida for christmas and was told it would be in about the 70s.

So warm enough to do the theme parks but too cold for the beach?

We went in january 2002 and weather was great, dry and warm but not too hot, about 24 degrees. Perfect!

we went in november and spent a week on the beach in clearwater, it was lovely and warm, but not to the point were you were burning. its the perfect weather for doing the parks etc

We have been at Christmas for the last two years. For the most part it was summer clothes, temperature between 22 and 30 degrees. The children swam everyday both holidays and you will need air conditioning as it feels hotter because of the humidity. It can be very cool in the evenings.

Thailand is great at xmas

Last Christmas we went to Orlando and on Christmas Day it absolutely poured down!. Despite that we had a great time there and would certainly recommend holidaying abroad at that time of year.

Bear in mind though that Christmas Day itself is not a good day to visit the Disney Parks - it is both jammed packed and stressful.

It is warm enough to go to the theme parks but wear a jacket or sweatshirt initially if you get there for when it opens as it can be still chilly.

If you can find a hotel with an indoor pool this may be useful as well.

The weather there can be a bit variable towards the end of December. Nice during the day overall and temps in the high 60s/low 70s but it can be cold at night and in the early morning too.

We have just spent xmas & new year there weather was brilliant sun every day. it ranged from 83 deg to 74 deg but did go cold on some nights, we had the pool heat on in the villa were we stayed as pool temperature of the water will be cold that time of year.

Recommend the villa we stayed in, south facing for the sun as many of the villa's had no sun on there pools at all, i would be gutted if rented one of them and only 5 min from Disney Platinumvillas . Will be going back this year.

We went this time last year to Miami for 10 days and it was one of the best holidays we've had. The temperature was round 22-25 deg each day and the beach lovely. We rented an apartment which was just a 5 minute walk from the beach. DS 3, and DD 2, had a ball, and we did too.
