first holiday abroad

hi all

next year 2006 will be our first hot holiday abroad we have £2000 to spend there are four of us two adults and a 5 and 3 year old, who will be 6 and 4 by next summer, the last time we went away was as a couple in 1999 so really looking for some good tips, where would you recommend ?

Costa del Sol surprisingly nice IME!

Our first holiday abroad with dd when she was 18 months was to Menorca - the Blanc Palace I think - not much in the resort but the hotel was fab staff couldnt do enough for you and made a big fuss of dd at every meal. Good play areas and kids clubs creche etc and weather was lovely. Beach was a very short walk and dd loved it. I think it was an airtours family first hotel. Would definitely recommend it and nice short flight too.
