Can anyone recommend a Villa holiday company for Spain/Portugal

We want to have a villa holiday this year, preferably with a shared pool (not a private one). Either mainland Spain, Balaerics or Portugal.

Can anyone recommend a company that isn't too expensive....

We have used holiday rentals for Spain, kayleigh - good website and huge range of properties. Each property has an availability chart, but it's not live, so you have to ring the owner just to find out if it really is available, but if it is you can book it there and then IME.

for 2 hols on Mainland Spain - both couldn't be faulted. I liked the way they charge per property & not per person too

We live in Portugal and this summer went to the algrave to Lagoa. A friend of DH's is the Manager for Vale del Rei which is a hotel with private villas/houses. There is a restaurant,a bar, a games room, 2 pools and a baby pool and a pool bar. The villas have a fully equipped kitchen, lounge/dining room, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. It was lovely. It is a quiet area with a few local restaurants. You need to hire a car. Away from the busy towns but close enough if you want to venture in. Local beaches ear by aswell.

We've used holiday rentals too with great success, but I think it would depend on who you actually rented for. It gives you a good idea of the type of properties available and the prices and seems to be quite comprehensive in it's geographical locations.

just wanted to say thanks for these. Have been checking them out and Holiday Rentals has come up with a couple of possibilities.
Where do you go for information on the actual resorts ? Any trusted sites to look at for Balaerics without trawling through loads from a google search ?

Any tips on what else I should be looking for when booking a holiday like this (have only done packages since having kids)? I know I need to look at flights and car hire. Anything else I should be looking at ?

we have used jameses villas many times and they are fab they can sort out flights car hire ect.

We used owners direct.com, they seem fine, but you have to trawl through a few!

My mum has booked one in spain through them, very reasonable, nd they have rec car hire, flights etc.
