Any ideas? its my birthday in April. I seperated from my husband this year so I really want to arrange something so I'm not sat at home getting miserable on the weekend of my birthday. I have a dd who is 3 and I want to spend time with her, obviously money is tight. Any ideas where we could go for a few days? either in or outside the uk. I have had a bit of a look but the penalties for under occupancy seem to be huge!

if you don't mind the slight cold, Cornwall is very picturesque and many different places to stay, whatever fits your situation. All of it is good so a B&B for the w/e might be worth investigating, and in April depending on whether it's the Easter hols or not, you wont be unindated with tourists, like the summer months prevail.

April is mostly school holidays so prices will be high unless it's the end of April. You could have a day out somewhere and perhaps go to the beach in August?

Some places don't give occupancy supplements but you still can't guarantee good weather in Spain in April (if you were thinking of there). Or could you share with someone to bring the cost down?

We are going to www.schoolfarmcottages.co.uk in Suffolk (don't know where you are). It's very reasonably priced and about 30 minutes from Southwold (lovely resort).

Cadbury World is supposed to be good but I've not been! I'd second Butlins as a good idea too.

Agree with TreeFuses - going tomorrow in Fact (snow permitting).]

Fantastic name Tref!

School holidays are 1-19th April so you really want to go at the end if you can for better prices

CenterParcs is supposed to be great as well.

Co Down. More worried about the snow predicted here for tonight - M11 to Stansted! Hope we get to the Airport and get off the ground without too much snow delay.!
