A few people have gone off for Xmas today - to Thailand and Czech Republic so now I'm feeling like i want to have something to look forward to so looking for Holiday ideas for next year. Would like to stay in UK (hideous experience flying with DS when 21 months!) as is easier. Have DS who will be 4 1/2 and DD who will be 18months+. Would prefer West Country or Isle of Wight. Have done farm holiday in North Devon for last couple of years which was great but maybe prefer something a bit different.

have thought about child friendly hotel but know this would be more expensive and not quite so convenient as self catering. But nice to be able to leave the kids in bed and have an evening downstairs IYSWIM!

Any ideas/recommendations would be gratefully received.

Still like the idea of farm type holiday as kids generally love the animals etc.

Thanks in advance.

Still a farm holiday but they are good and ideal for that age group. Have a look www.gwynfrynfarm.co.uk, I found it really good.

someone recommended the carlyon hotel in cornwall to me when my twins were small. it has a website so you can look. apparently they are really child friendly and ahve earlly tea for children, child minding, listening etc. i think it has spa treatments if you want to spoil yourself, it has an outside pool, and great views. the entertainment is very good as well. we tried to book for new year but they were booked up.
