Going away for Xmas- when would you travel?

Simple really but I can't make my mind up! Travelling from South West to Scotland for Christmas- would you travel on Friday lunch time (passing Birmingham by 3pm) or early Sat morning? They'll both be busy I guess but will one be better? IF we leave on Friday we can stop over so journey time is 6 hours if no traffic- if leave Sat total journey time will be 7 1/2 hours.

With a 23 mo...arrgh!

I would probably go on the Friday. I think most people would be doing half days if they are working and then they tend to go to the pub! Remember there will be no school runs by then.

Good luck anyway!

Agree I think go on Friday. It will probably be a shorter working day but anyone who is working won't set off until the evening or following day.
