Christmas in Disney World

Am I mad to even consider this??

I'm thinking of taking DD (5) to Disney World for Christmas. We've had a terrible year & she deserves some fun, and I can't be bothered with the usual hassle from family! Has anyone spent Christmas in Disney? Were half the things closed or was it all still OK? We obviously won't need a summer hotel with swimming pool etc so where's good to stay where we won't be paying for a load of stuff we won't use? What are the best ways to make savings on Disney holidays - booking everything individually or getting a package deal?

TIA!

Christmas day in magic kingdom is their busiest day of the year, everything is open, the Disney forum on trip advisor will have loads of info Smile
