Can you get away with hand luggage for toddler??

I'm thinking not, but has anyone got away with an extra bag for a 1yo when travelling on a plane? I just don't have a bag big enough to carry what I'll need on the flight for myself and my son.
I still wouldn't go over weight restrictions if I had my bag plus ds's changing bag, but would they not allow the 2 separate bags?

It entirely depends on the airport. I have found that in general they are a bit more lax if you travel with children but recently had glue confiscated from our trunki! Maybe buy a bigger bag or put some non essential stuff in the suitcase. Boots usually have a good selection of baby / toddler stuff at the larger airports, just in case. Happy holidays :)

I would always check with whoever you are booked with. if the flight is full then they are tougher on luggage allowances than if it isnt.
