Paris with 4yo and 1yo - would you do it?

Trying to think of somewhere to go at half term and quite fancy eurostar to Paris. With a Disney day tacked on to the end to encourage good behaviour!

Any tips - is Paris easy to get around with a buggy? Plenty to keep them occupied?

Any any recommended apartments/areas would be great

Paris has got lots of nice things for kids like the Jardins de Luxembourg, the bateaux mouches, and some of the museums. I think there's a big science park thing somewhere all for kids too that's meant to be good.

However bear in mind that October could well be wet and cold. Traipsing around a city in the rain with little kids is not my idea of fun :)

If you do it, I'd recommend staying somewhere central where you can easily walk to all the main sights. The metro is a pain with buggies because of lots of steps and awkward ticket barriers. Buses are much easier.

Oh, and France feels really expensive at the moment because of the exchange rate. Paris is expensive at the best of times but it will be eye-wateringly expensive now!

Too expensive at the moment and would the kids know that they had been? Better off to book a city break in the UK. Not sure where you live but a break in London is a lot less expensive. as RR says the weather could be poor and why go to disney when legoland and chessington are here. The 1 yr old won't remember disney so why not save it up for when they are 3 and 7. they would get more out of it then.

We have been taking our DD since she was a baby to Paris. She has always enjoyed it. We wrap up well and go through out the year - next trip last weekend in November. Eating out with kids in France is much easier than UK. The little one is a bit small for Disney at the moment, but the rest is great.
There are possibilities to keep it cheap you can still get a good three course meal for 13 euros if you know where to go.
