Any ideas - day spa's won't have exercise classes and gyms won't do the pampering.
Looking to meet up with a friend (mid way from Scotland to England) for a birthday treat.
Any ideas?

Depends on your budget. Seaham Hall in Northumberrland is apparently amazing. Stobo Castle in the Scottish borders (have been twice) is also good.

Was going to suggest Centerparcs - Have Spas and exercise classes (I have taken yoga, pilates and Body combat) or things like tennis, badminton etc

Not sure if they are what you are looking for or located right for you though

I've been to Stobo a good few times. But my friend is travelling from London - so Stobo is a bit further for her to come - ideally would like somewhere more in the middle between us.
I'll have a look at Seaham Hall and I think there may be a centreparcs half way between us - will have a look at that too. Thanks.

If you fancied getting outdoors for your exercise (and didn't mind coming further north, there's a good sleeper service from London for your friend), I know there are quite a few good 4 and 5 B&Bs and guest houses (eg Huntingtower Lodge, The Grange, etc) in Fort William that have mobile therapist services from companies like Alpine Holistics. You could have a day skiing (snow's good just now) or walking then a lovely massage and dinner afterwards... Regardlesss, good luck with your search!
