Just got back tonight from a week in Het Heidjebos in Holland, apart from the weather it was fab. We had the top of the range villa, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom with jacuzzi and private sauna, right on a lake, 7 nights for 1100 euros, much much cheaper than the UK ones, my brother just spent £1000 for 4 nights in a comfort villa in Sherwood Forest! It was 5 hours driving time from Calais, we are lucky to live 4 miles from Dover! The extra activities were much cheaper, food costs the same, hardly any English and very friendly staff. Also very good evening shows! Oh, plus the Jungle Dome which is free as well as the pool etc, very well done and really good value! Just wanted to share with you all, plus unlike CP here they give amazing discounts for early booking etc!

Good tip. We also found that stays at European theme parks work out almost as cheap as a stay in a British one. The hotel plus tickets can be up to £150 cheaper which you can put towards a cheap flight. plus the standard of food and accommodation was superior in Phantasialand compared to Chessington.
