love carnac. men du is one of our favourite beaches in the world. get a very detailed map and you will find beaches off the beaten track - one we visited had practically no-one on it and we picnicked in a field of orchids next door. picnicks are always great in france. nicest supermarket is along the road that leads to men du, on the right. the sunday market used to do lovely roast chickens and roast potatoes. gulf de morbihan is really pretty and vannes and auray. obviously take a look at the standing stones. la trinite is worth a wonder. great crabbing. the map will also have little signs that show you where there's a nice view, or standing stones etc.

Take a pair of shoes / trainers / wellies they can wear in the sea if they're exploring rock pools. Barnacles scrap the sides of little feet in flip flops.

Very jealous! Have fun.

beach called kerhillio i think was quiet, long sandy one - no facilities. st cado was a cute place we picnicked - tiny little church on an estuary . point de kerpenhir, nice views good crabbing - these may not be your cup of tea though - when children were younger we tended to do something fairly laid back. quiberon can get busy
