I've never been to Turkey and I would like to take our children (8 and 9) for about a week next Easter. I want to go to Istanbul, but I think a week in the city would be too much. Where else could we go for a few days, that would be more relaxing than Istanbul and wouldn't involve too much extra travel? I was looking at reviews of Princes Islands, but I think it's going to be completely dead (and rather cold) at that time of year. I'm assuming it isn't really going to be beach weather in early April? Alternativley, should we just make it a shorter break in Istanbul this time?
Recommendations for characterful but child-friendly accommodation also appreciated.
