first family holiday abroad - Big family village or smaller hotel?

Anyone stayed at any of the huge family villages? would they be good for a young family. DD's will be 3 and almost 2 when we plan to go.
Ive heard they can be too busy and your fighting for highchairs ect?

Would it be best to go for a smaller hotel? But then not have all the entertainment for the kiddies?

Would the kids get bored with just the pool /beach for a week?

Anyone any experiences?

TIA

I loved the first choice holiday village in Malloca plenty for my boys to do aged 8 and 11. Next year we have booked the Rhodes holiday village we fancied a change :)

I have never been to a big hotel, we always go to small places. At 2 and 3 my children were perfectly happy just to play on the beach or in the baby pool, they don't really need to be entertained at that age.

I would say choose whatever you would prefer, your kids will have a great time wherever you stay.
