Hotels in Paris

Myself and husband are heading away for 2 nights midweek in December. Just wondering if anyone had any good recommendations - we aren't that fussy if its not that grand.

I have been before but husband hasn't so he would like something fairly handy to main sightseeing places but we don't have an aversion to public transport. Thanks.

Other hotels in the Latin Quarter worth looking at are -
Hotel St Louis ( renovated in 2006 ).
Hotel de Lutece ( on Isle St Louis)
Hotel Excelsior Latin ( 2 star family run ).

It is worth reading the hotel reviews on Trip Advisor to help you decide.

Thanks very much - really appreciate the links.

my favourite is Le Regent hotel on 61 rue Dauphine. Great location, you can walk practically everywhere, except we did get a bus to Eiffel. Great restaurants nearby, cashpoint outside (!) and near to the Seine. Would definitely stay there again.

potteringalong, just looked at yours, very nice, quite close to Le Regent too, it's a really good area to be in.

Know its an old thread, but just wanted to pass on thanks to Figgygirl (didn't want to pm and seem a bit stalkery Grin). We're just back from staying at the Hotel Excelsior Latin. Had a fab time and really liked the hotel, thanks again for the tip.

Hi wigglesrock,
Thanks for the update - glad to hear you liked the hotel and had a fab time!
I have not stayed there myself, but read a recommendation from someone on the TA Paris forum at one time and made a note of it. I thought their website looked good. Worth bearing in mind for me and hubby one day then!
Maybe you could find time to write a review on TA - they are always useful.
