Booking holidays as a family of 5?

Just looking for a bit of inspiration really - we have 3 children (aged 2-6) and have up until now been quite lucky in that places will accommodate 2 adults, 2 children and 1 baby in one hotel room. Now the baby is over 2 and classed as a 3rd child (rather than a baby) it seems our options are drastically reduced (unless we book a 2 bedroomed apartment which seems to double the price of the holiday). I know we could do things independently - flights / rent a villa / caravan and our fall back position - camping - but for "sun package" type holidays, what do you do if you're a family of 5? Any recommendations (that won't break the bank)?

mobile home in france or do it yourself villa. Found the package ones only cater for 4, as you say. 3 bed aparts aren't always that much more money, though obviously less to choose from - owners direct is the website i've used

Agree with the static caravan idea. We are 5 and have just come back from France and were in a caravan that slept 6. Bloody brilliant holiday. By the way we have 1 6 year old and 2 year twins.
