Baby Friendly Holiday / Cottage Websites?

Hi there

Has anyone used any of the baby friendly holiday / cottage websites to book their holiday?

For example, baby friendly boltholes, away with the kids or tots to travel? What did you think of them?

I'm looking for a holiday cottage to take our 1 year old baby to and was wondering if it was worth using one of the specialist baby friendly websites or sticking with holiday rentals or holiday lettings?

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo,

When are you looking to go? And where?

This is a shameless plug but we have a family friendly holiday let in West Cornwall - just about to begin letting (from end September).

Baby gates, travel cots, bath mats all provided... do PM me if you are interested!

I'd recommend Bosinver Farm Cottages or Court Farm cottages if you're looking at Cornwall. We've been to both and are brilliant for babies and children :)

We have bee to a few places with baby friendly boltholes, recommend them very highly, especially Clydey cottages, lots of lovely play areas for toddlers to let off steam. OTOH, 1 year old may be quite happy with relatively simple entertainments, so an ordinary cottage letting agency (we've always used cottages4u.co.uk) is prob fine. They are fairly explicit about what's baby friendly etc. We had a cottage through northumbria coastal cottages which was in itself fine, but the highchair was horrible from having been stored in an outhouse all winter and, given that the travel cot they supplied had been there too, i was very glad we had taken our own (we always do, or rather did, DD2 has now moved into a bed; but travel cots are a bit variable and may not be terribly comfy)

We have used awaywiththekids which we have found to be a really good website. when we go to cornwall we stay at wringworthy holiday cottages near Looe which has all the baby type stuff free. not sure when you want to go but suggest you check out these two websites.
