Days out near Aberystwyth / Powys

Planning to spend a week or more camping on 2 separate sites, one just south of Aberystwyth and one near Powys. Am trying to have a few days out planned in case of emergency - any recommendations? Any family friendly places you'd recommend?

The StatKraft Visitor Centre, walks and conducted tours of the Cwm Rheidol Hydro-Electric Power Station;

The Exhibition Galleries of the Aberystwyth Arts Centre'.

I would definitely recommend the following (went there many times whilst I was a student at the university and since then):

• Vale of Rheidol Railway (from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge) - very scenic.
