Have had thought of spending a few days in France over the Christmas/New Year break, somewhere not too far from Calais. Does anyone have any suggestions please for us, DS 4, and DD2?

we stayed at a lovely gite a couple of years ago. Perfect for the littlies cos it has a lot of safe indoor and outdoor running around space. However, there were 10 of us, so it might work out a bit expensive.

About 30 mins from Calais, if I remember right - even closer to the other one whose name I have temporarily forgotten.

If you are thinking of a hotel, the Holiday Inn in Le Touquet does really good family rooms with two double beds on different levels. And they have an indoor pool that DD (4 at the time) loved. Not bad food for a hotel (though Le Touquet itself offers much better restaurants), coped well with the demands for roast chicken but no gravy etc from a four year old, and the buffet breakfast was great. Parking is free. They do NOT do baby listening, even if it is still mentioned on some websites. Hope this helps. Have fun!

Have a look at www.gites-de-france.fr for both self catering and Chambre D'Hotes.
